Eggbertsmith, if people didn’t care about peoples projects, why are YOU on here? You contradict yourself constantly. Where are all your video’s? Cant afford film? DIY & low costs is being smart. Why do billions of people buy consumer digital camcorders & cameras? It reflects their budget or all they need. Also who wants to carry around a huuuge weighty film camera? If film was cheap all us kids would be using it.Your ignorance is humorous, so is your point. The special bus awaits you son!
Do you want to know why we don’t use film? Because its expensive. Film guys always talk about how great film is and all the great things they’d do if they could afford film and processing. But video guys don’t talk, they do. So, now with affordable HD that looks better than 16mm stock and even some 35mm….why do film at all?I could shoot video that looks so good that you’d think I even shot it with film. Get out of the past, embrace the digital age. FIlm is dying, if not dead already.
Silly children. I guess this is why there are new cameras from both Arri and Aaton. Oh wait, and a brand new stock from Kodak too? Hmmm. Oh yeah, read up on how many prime time TV shows (yes, TV) are still shot on film. Gosh, doesnt make sense does it? Surely they are foolish, these old men and their archaic film cameras.Who gives a toss about your personal HD projects? Will they ever be seen outside of Youtube? …and still film continues. Why? Perhaps you should write to them.
If you want to waste your money on film for the sake of art, I’m not going to stop you. I make a profession out of shooting and editing. I’d be bankrupt if I had to shoot film, not to mention it’d be impossible to make the deadlines that I have for broadcast. I’ve shot/edited at least 100 projects in the last year, how about you? Probably still trying to decide what to shoot, can’t waste a single frame of expensive film, right? While you dream, others do. Film = the dodo bird. Sorry.
