u put it in the FIREWIRE port usually at the back or front of your comp…. the prob is, thats if u even have one….

It looks a bit like a USB port but with slants on its corners…

U can go buy a card at your local comp store and put it in if u havnt got one..

Firewire, or IEEE 1394 as it is affectionately called, uses a few different size cables. see http://www.tca-inc.net/firewirecables.html If your PC has a firewire plug at all, you will need the proper cord. If your machine does not have firewire you can install a firewire card.

most computers dont have a firewire slot. you can guy a card for 30 at compusa, and it comes with teh firewire cable. (the compusa brand one does anyways)

Here are some pics of what you’re looking for incase it’ll help at this point. http://www.la.unm.edu/~beach/terms/images/firewireBIG.jpg The firewire port itself may be discovered by its symbol, http://www.linux-user.de/ausgabe/2002/02/051-firewire/firewire.png which you can see next to the “400″ port. That’s what you’ll be connecting to if you have any firewire ports on your PC; however, the other’s responses are correct in that most PCs don’t come with firewire (who know’s why), and if you’re skittish about popping open the PC case to install a new card, I recommend doing what “RFJ” suggested by not only going to a CompUSA or similar store to get one, but having them install it for you, unless you have a geek friend who’ll install it for you for free. If you already have the cable, you may want to just get the card alone if it will save you enough money.
