Is there a way to hook up my mini-dvd camcorder or digital camera to my computer and use it as a web-cam?

07 Apr

I tried using the usb cables that I usually use when downloading pics, but that doesn’t work for web cam use. Thanks in advance to any helpful answers!
The digital camera is a Kodak EasyShare C330 and it has an a/v-out. The mini dvd camcorder is a Samsung and it has an a/vs.

Not every digicam/camcorder can be used as a webcam. It is completely dependant on the digicam or camcorder in question….

If you specify your model a specific answer can be given.

You can use both of these as a web cam if they both have video out lines. but you also need some type of video capture card or device on your computer. i have a usb video capture device on my computer and can hook up my camcorder to it using the video out cable. the camcorder gives a very good quality web cam feed. if you don’t have a video capture device, it’s probably easier for you to just buy a good web cam.
