Sample 720p Hd Video From A Panasonic Lumix Dmc-fz38 Bridge Camera
11Dec
The FZ38 has stereo microphones, so how does the sound compare with the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 Micro Four Thirds system camera, which was launched earlier this week. This video clip was record…
This does seem to have captured more bass end, although from what I can see of the room this could have an impact. But my hearing’s shot anyway – it’s the picture that grabs me, good skin tones and colour rebdition, for less than £300 it’s pretty amazing

fz38 sounds like it compromise the wave peak, and capture more mid freq, by which gf1 capture more high freq.it’s not a whole bad characteristic at all, fz38 gave more actual sound, while gf1 tent to capture more.. but if i woulda listening for 2 hours, gf1 could be annoying.

Definitely the sound is lacking any highs. I bet the Canon SX20 has better mics.

GF1 doesn’t do video capture, GH1 or GF1 does but of those are in different categories that cost way more/

GF1 does video capture, as well as the GH1. I believe you mean that that G1 doesn’t have it.

Though I am not familiar with the accoustics of the venue, I too was thinking which sounded worse! I think the GF1 has a mic input, though? I am itching to see a review of the Canon 7D… when I should probably be done with it and by a cheap but better camcorder.

Thanks JDisturbed, someone else has pointed this out to me, too. Do we know if either the GF1 or FZ38 have manual level control with the mic, or is it fully auto? I am VERY impressed by the FZ38’s ’super zoom’ range.

I’m not certain, but I would assume they would both be auto.
