One suggestion is to get an external hard drive & transfer the HD videos to it … This way I can view the videos on and/or through my Playstation 3 system.

Since you have a ps3, another suggestion if you don’t know is burning it to a DVD. The camera has a “1 touch burn” option that makes making a DVD quite simple and fast. Then, not only do you have a hard copy of your media, you don’t have to monkey with cords, and viewing each file 1 by 1. Burning on a DVD does not lose any of the video quality, or sound quality. The ONLY problem I have come across is that since AVCHD format is larger, you can’t fit as much as standard definition. I hope I helped

@jaysmith12 Thanks for suggesting another option … Now I understand that the video can be time, date & location stamped? The location stamp has got me stumped. I do watch the videos on my PS3; I transfer them to an external hard drive (250 GB), to save them. I want to keep my PS3 HDD for gaming downloads. You certainly did help me out by letting me know about the “1 touch burn”.

Can I record in HD and then make a copy of the recorded video to regular dvd. This is important because courts and attorneys will not have blue rays to play the HD material back. From what I have heard the Standard Def on this camera is not that great and the image quality is important.I will be sending the files as attachments. Also the code of the video showing it is the original unedited copy is required to prove that the video has not been altered.

This camera will not burn on a DVD and be played on a DVD player. You can probably use a video editing program to make it so it isn’t in AVCHD format, but I haven’t tried it. The answer is no, though. You cannot record in HD, and then play it on a standard DVD player.

However, if you have the camera, and record it in HD, you can play it on a standard definition TV with the plugs provided in the camera package. You just have to view it through the camera, not a DVD/DvD player.

And regarding your format for attachments, these videos are very large, and will not be able to be played back through a computer. The only way they will be viewed on a computer is through the Sony software. If you have a blu-ray playing computer, or is blu-ray compatable, I don’t know what will happen. Through a standard computer though, you will not want this camera, or any HD camera for send through E-Mail, or for making DVD copies for court.

I’m thinking about getting this camera, it seems amazing. One thing i dont get though, i’m pretty new to the whole HD cameras world, and from what i understand, the video format is .m2t ? So if i want to edit my clips, i have to convert ? (Because my program doesnt support .m2t)
