I want to get a good one, possibly with a mic. I don’t have a lot of money to spend on it, but it does need to be good quality. Any brands, or specific model ideas?

i need it to be able to take pictures that i can put on my computer and also be a camcorder.. something that is not extremely expensive either.. i use to have a digital camera that was a video camera, but it only recorder for about a total of 5 or so minutes.. i need it to record longer than that

(p.s. dont try to convince me making movies isn’t worth your time because enough people on here have already told me that and I am still going to be a movie director!)

I am looking for a camera/camcorder combo to buy my wife for Christmas. I want the best of both worlds, but she would most likely use it more to take still pics.
I once used a friend’s Kodak camera, which had camcorder options and we really liked that a lot. The only problem with that was the camcorder only recorded for a short time.
So now, I am looking for the best for the money. Suggestions? Links are appreciated.

It might be tough but I’ve got a budget of 250-450 US dollars and I need a good camera and or camcorder to capture or film skateboarding. Any camera with a great sports or motion setting and a good multi-shot would work and for camcorders, well the easiest one to record to computer that is high quality in the price range.

I’m going on holiday and I’m set on videoing every moment to capture memories!
I can’t think of a good video camera/camcorder.
My things that I want are:
-long batt life (i don’t mind charging every day if i have to)
-huge memory (that’s if the camera stores it into it’s own hard drive, if it uses a memory stick, dw)
but the most important thing is that it’s small, compact and portable so I can whip it out v. quickly at any given moment.
