hello i have an HD camcorder. on my laptop..i can hook up the camcorder and watch the videos fine..but on my computer..it doesnt seem to open the file..(windows media player) and play it..i have to play it through nero..and the quality is verry bad too…i bought the pc a year ago too so it isnt all that old? what do i do? do i have todownload a new firmware for windows media player? its like MTS format or something

I transfer my footage from a 3ccd camcorder to my computer using the same 3ccd camcorder. I want to know if I need to use a 3ccd camcorder to keep the high quality video or can i use a regular 1 ccd camcorder and get the same result. Does it matter?

Do I need a digital camcorder or a digital camera with video? I know digital camers use memory cards, is it the same for digital camcorders? Does it matter? Seems like everyone, except me, can upload video clips.

I bought the camera about 4 years ago, it’s the little bluish-silver Panasonic miniDV. It has no memory card slot, and only takes miniDV tapes. I do see a Firewire port on the camera, an A/V output, and a port I do not recognize that is smaller than the Firewire port, it simply says DV above it.
Is there any special equipment or installations that I need for my computer to be able to transfer my videos? The more detail, the better.

I have a Sony HDD Handycam camcorder. I’ve had it for nearly three years and have never been able to upload the videos to the computer successfully. Sometimes I can get the video but it never has any audio so I can do absolutely nothing with my videos. I was wondering if you think I am doing something wrong or if I need a special software. I just got a Samsung DVD camcorder, and now i want to import it to my computer. They gave me a cd with a driver and usb cable that connects my comp to my camcorder. i installed the driver, but now it only lets me use it as a webcam. how do i transfer my videos?
