I can’t figure out for the life of me what cable I need to connect my Sharp mini-dv camcorder to my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I know I’ve hooked the camcorder up before, but I can’t remember what kind of wire I used. Any help would be appreciated!

I have a Samsung SCL700 HI8 camcorder with digital zoom. There is no USB port, only a round 5 or 6 pin port that says “video.” I’ve looked for cables, but only find USB…are there cables out there like what I speak of, that have the round end and the USB (computer) end as well – or do I need to find an adapter, if they even make one?
I use this camera for my paranormal research team, and it’s important for me to be able to upload video to my pc…

the camcorder is kinda old and doesn’t have a place to connect a USB cable.

What plug do I need to get? I have checked the Canon website but can’t find anything.

I want to make a DVD for my cousin & am just wondering about how to go about it, as far as transferring the footage from my camcorder over to my computer in order to do this successfully.

I’m not sure the mic input in Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder can accomodate such mic that is normally used by professional broadcast journalist since the input is quite small. I’m new. But i need to work on the small camcorder (for mobility convenience) that has mic input like on Canon Vixia HV30 instead of semipro one. Pls help me. Thanks

I bought a 9-pin 4-pin under the impression that it would work. It fit into the Mac Pro but not into the camcorder. The small end was slightly too big. I am under the impression now that I need a 9-pin 6-pin, and that the 6-pin should be the one that connects to the HV30. Any help is appreciated!

Hey guys and gals. I have an old Hi8 video camcorder, it only has s-video out and rca out. I have an HP Media Center PC which has an s-video in, so I simply connected the camcorder to the s-video in. How do I see or record the video onto the PC? I cant figure this out for the life of me. I dont have a “tv card” area where I can change which input to get video from. Please help.

I want to connect my Samsung camcorder to my laptop which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 so that i can transfer footage from camcorder tapes to DVD. The only port that is on the camcorder is a S Video port. Is it possible to do this? Do i need a S Video cable? (Camcorder is analog I think!!)
