hi guys I’ve been trying to convert the camcorder’s movie into the vcd or dvd but the software I’ve got with the camcorder is useless. I mean there’s useless information to convert it and at the end I cant convert as a vcd or dvd. so guys pls help me & solve this matter 4 me. I have a Sony CCD-TRV14E Camcorder and I want to burn the videos onto DVDs. I’m unsure about what I need to buy to convert the (8mm) tapes, I was looking at some stuff from pinnacle but I’m unsure which one I need (Dazzle DVD Recorder, Pinnacle Studio MovieBox, Pinnacle Video Transfer) I’m really confused as to which I need.
What about the devices I mentioned?

Hey guys, I’m having a problem with my camcorder.

I have a Samsung SCL901 8mm camcorder, it has no USB or Firewire and it records with tapes. I need to transfer the video on my camcorder to my PC, but the only way I know how to do that is to buy an analog-to-digital converter. And the ones I have found online are like $70 and I’m looking to spend $20-$30. Also, it would be nice if I could go to a store and get one and not have to buy it online. So, if anyone knows where I could a CHEAP analog-to-digital converter (or anything that would help me in this situation) please let me know.

I am looking for something to make movies from 8mm camcorder and VHS tapes. I have video-Oh and it has SHOWBIZ editing software but it crashes all the time and has all kinds of problems. It is very easy to use though but I think the problem lies with the capture of the analog media. I will someday get a digital camcorder but I have a lot of old stuff I want to convert and make into DVDs.

I have heard of converters to convert old vhs tapes onto your computer. I have some old vhs tapes and a camcorder that recorders on i belive 8mm or hi-8 tapes and i would like to find an inexpensive converter to put these memories on dvd and my computer it would be a nice gift for my parents. My camcorder a model from early 2000’s is not capable of connecting to a pc. If there is someone who would be able to point me in the right direction there would be much apreciation. Thanks

i have a sony handycam and i know how to copy the movies over to my comp using the Sony software, but i cant edit them.

I was told that I could take video from my vcr to camcorder. and then import the video into iMovie.
I have a camcorder, but can’t seem to get my vcr to connect to it. I have tried the rca (red white and yellow cable) to it in several ways. When the camcorder is in camera mode, it doesn’t see the movie playing in the vcr. what is the right cable to use? How do I convert a sony 8mm tape to a dvd or some kind of memory? Alright, we have these priceless memoryfull tapes (going from 1994-1999) they show footage i really want to see…..just to bring back those memories. They are the tapes from the mid 1990’s that were used for sony camcorders. I have about full 40 tapes. Unfortunatly our camcorder broke and we could’nt watch them no more. Plus, to make it even worse……..i heard that footage on those tapes degrade and could simply disapear. I want to know how i could transfer it to a cd or something. I’m really interested if someone could do it for us.(like in a electronic store or we could see a guy that has equipment that could transfer it for us.) Please, i would take any help or suggestions. These tapes REALLY mean alot to our family. Thank you.

When my son was a newborn, about 2 years ago, I had a camcorder. I recorded a bunch of stuff up until my camcorder broke. I got rid of the camcorder and I still have my cassette tapes from the camcorder that i recorded on. I want to get the recordings onto a dvd so I can watch them through my dvd player, but I don’t know how now since I don’t have my camcorder to connect to my computer to convert the stuff on the tapes. Is there something I can buy that will read the casette and allow me to hook it up to my computer in order to do this? Or do I have to buy a camcorder? The camcorders they have now don’t use the cassettes, they use dvd’s.

Hi,

i am just about to more into the world of camcorders and recording my own DVD’s. The reason for my question is my parents live in the UK where DVD’s are on a different region let alone the TV’s run on the PAL format instead of NTSC.
Has anyone use any of these conversion software? I know at minimum I could transfer it over the internet but thats my last resort.

Anyone got any opinions on it.?
