Ive just bought a High Definition Sony HDR-SR12E Camcorder, and wish to edit high definition footage on a computer i.e title and background music. I have received software with the camcorder to connect to my computer, but does not edit high definition footage for titles and background music. What soft wares for windows are available on the market?
I have owned previous camcorders and used Magix Movies & Ulead Video Studio for editing.
The format for my new sony camcorder is AVCHD.

I have the SV2000 dvd recorder and I’m wondering if there is some way that I can use it to take the video from my camcorder and copy it to DVD using this recorder?
Is there some sort of firewire to usb adapter? Do some MiniDV camcorders connect via USB? Or is there no way around it? (i.e. I would have to buy a computer with a firewire socket or use a Flash camcorder).
my camcorder is a Sony Handycam that uses Hi-8 cassettes. It has a “video out” on it and I am able to hook the camera up to my TV. How do I hook up the cam to my computer? I have a “video out” that I installed on my computer but I don’t think I have a “video in” Do I need a certain program? And do I need another video card?
I have taken some HD footage using my Canon HF-10 camcorder, shooting in the 2nd highest setting (XP+). I am wondering what the raw footage extension is (eg: mpeg, avi, etc.) Thanks

I just bought a Canon HV30 camcorder and when I just burn about 3 minutes of HD footage onto a dvd…I saw that practically half of the dvd was burned…obviously there’s no way to burn 1 1/2 hours of footage in HD.
Is there any kind of dvd I can buy that can hold this much HD footage…or do I need to get a blu-ray rom drive/burner to do that?
I want to spend around 500-600 dollars on a sony handycam/camcorder. But do not know which one to choose. I love those hard drive ones but have heard the quality of footage would be lower as it should compress the movie. So I think a better choice is DVD or mini DV ones. But which model? Can you help?

I hooked the camcorder up to the a/v inputs in the back of the TV, the video plays on the TV but when i record to DVD it plays back whatever is on cable (tv shows). In order to see the camcorder footage I have to press the TV/Video button on my TV, so I tried to push the TV/Video button on the DVD recorder remote controller and it still records cable. How do I configure this? Not sure of the brand name but the model of the combo recorder is SV2000. (lost the manual)
