Sony DCR-SR88 120GB Hard Disk Drive Handycam Camcorder

I have a Handycam TRV318 that recently started giving the C31:22 error. I smacked it around a few times as the forums suggested and got it working but I’m not confident this fix will last long-term. I’m wanting to buy another Hi8 camcorder so I can copy my existing Hi8 tapes over to DVD. Can someone tell me the model # of the last Hi8 Handycam Sony made so I can try and pick one up before all the new old stocks are gone? I like the Hi8 quality and if I can find the last model Sony made new in the box somewhere I will continue to use this format for another 10 years. I don’t trust buying camcorders used. More likely than not it will have some quirk like my TRV318 and I don’t want to waste my money.

I paid Approx. $750+ to buy it from Circuit city. Many websites have new one now for sale at $650+ price. What’s the best way to sell it, so that I can get the maximum price?

I’ve done a little searching and so far I don’t think there is a “hack” on YouTube or Google that even comes close to it. Most of my searches come up with converting the tape.

I think that my general plan would be to take out the analog recording components and replace them with digital ones. I want to record on using a flash format.

ANY help would be appreciated.

I am selling a Sony Handycam Video 8 CCD-TR94 Camcorder. A buyer was inquiring about what tapes are compatible with it. I was not sure, so I contacted a Sony representative. She told me it only uses standard 8mm tapes, and not digital ones. The only thing is I am confused because the camcorder has digital 8 format, and is a digital camcorder. So I would think it uses digital tapes. Please help me.

Also, do any 8mm tapes work for it? And, will it playback any 8mm tapes?
