Is it virtually impossible to edit footage taken with a DVD Camcorder or is it just me?

I just bought the Canon DC330 DVD Camcorder (uses 8cm DVDs) and have been trying for 5 hours to edit my footage. It is impossible! The editing software will not pull up the footage to edit, only to view. Did I choose the wrong camcorder if I am wanting to do a lot of video editing (for internet use)? What is the best type of camcorder to buy if you plan on editing all your footage?

How do I transfer whats on a videotape to my new Sony camcorder NOT just by recording the TV screen?

Hi – I had an older camcorder – it was an analog sony handycam of the late nineties – and there was a way to put it in VTR mode (i think thats what it was called…when you put it in the mode to watch the vids) there was a way to hook it up to the tv press a couple camcorder buttons simultaneously so that the picture on the television was transferred to the camcorder and you could record it directly by using the cable and pressing a few buttons. I cannot figure out how to do this with my new camcorder – it’s a sony digital DCRHC36 (it takes those little mini-tapes) and i’ve resorted to filming the screen but that just is not working (fuzzy pic, stripes, outside noise, etc) does anyone know how to do with the new camcorder what i was able to do with the old one? THANKS!

IS a DVD Camcorder worth the money, or should I just stick with a regular Digital one?

My wife and I are in the market for a camcorder, and we noticed the ones that go directly onto a DVD in the camera.

I have heard that they skip and such, so are they worth it?

Should I just get a regular Digital video camera?

I just got a Sony DCR-TRV280 Digital 8 camcorder. How can I put my Digital 8 movies on my Vista computer?

I have a ton of D8 home movies and my old camcorder broke. bought this(not because I wanted it) but because I saw the need to put all my old D8 movies on DVD. But after spending the money, I can’t get my computer to recognize my camera. Trying to use a USB cable. Heard of the ILink, but I don’t even know if my computer supports it. I have a very new Toshiba Satellite laptop. Can I get a driver or use the ILink. Please help so I know I just didn’t waste $250.

Will a canon camcorder work just plugged in to a wall without a battery?

my canon zr600 camcorder doesn’t work at all with a battery or even plugged into a wall. I just want to make sure the camera is broken and not something wrong with the battery.
