I have the Canon ZR600 digital camcorder, and I want to know how I can transfer the videos on the mini DV tape to the computer so I can edit them and what not. The quality on those comes out so much better than the memory card recordings.

Okay, I’ll admit that I’m a real noob when in comes to technology, but Ill ask anyway. I have some recordings on my camcorder that I would like to put on my computer, but I don’t know what to do or where to go. I figured that connecting my camcorder to the computer with the USB cord would give me a message about saving it but nothing shows up. Do I have to go to the start menu and go somewhere? Can I just put the disc into the computer and do something? Please, I need help.

The mini dvds don’t slide into my apple the way full-sized dvds do, they just get stuck and when I put them into the pc it says ‘this format is unrecognised…’. I am asked to format the dvds at the beginning and choose ‘video’. Is this the problem?
Anyone know what causes the horizontal lines on digital video camcorders recordings? Bad tapes?

If so what brand is the best. I have ben using Sony and Panasonic and have had the most issues with Panasonic. Or then again maybe it is the camera, I don’t know. Not many resources here in Big Sky country.
