best ways to hide a Sony DCR-TRV 110 , without raising suspicion ?

14 Jul

it takes hi-8 tapes, i recently compared the quality of the video footage to my friends digital hard disk recording camcorder (low-mid range camcorder, it has similar zoom capabilities too) and was pleased to see that the quality was almost identical.

The only downside of my camera I suppose is the technology, its recording onto hi-8 tapes not directly onto a memory stick or a hard drive.

however because of the size, it means Its harder to conceal.

im trying to capture video/sound footage of a really unprofessional store manager and a disloyal jerk who talks foul behind a close female buddy’s back, a female buddy he supposedly ‘loves’.

any tips ?

Is there any way to transfer video from a Sony DVD Camcorder to IMovie?

09 Jun

“The Missing Manual—IMovie 6 and IDVD” states that they are incompatable. I am wondering if since this book was published they have created the necessary connection (something similar to Firewire) to now make it possible to load movies from this camera to my Mac.

We would really like to get our daughter’s movies on our computer and be able to edit them in IMovie……Thank You

How can I increase the quality on a Sony DCR-TRV260?

08 Jun

I am thinking about buying a used Sony DCR-TRV260 camcorder from a friend, and it came with a Hi-8 tape, but the picture is very grainy when I view the video full screen on my computer (using iMovie).

I don’t see any settings on the camcorder to change the quality, like from LP to EP to SLP, and the tape currently holds an hour’s worth of footage. I remember seeing buttons to trade shooting time for quality on other cams and VCR’s, but can’t find anything on this camera or in its menus that suggests that.

Do I need to buy a Digital 8 tape instead of a Hi-8 tape to get better quality, or am I stuck with a grainy picture?

Thanks!

What software can i use with my Sony HDR-SR12E camcorder to edit high definition footage?

05 Jun

Ive just bought a High Definition Sony HDR-SR12E Camcorder, and wish to edit high definition footage on a computer i.e title and background music. I have received software with the camcorder to connect to my computer, but does not edit high definition footage for titles and background music. What soft wares for windows are available on the market?

I have owned previous camcorders and used Magix Movies & Ulead Video Studio for editing.

The format for my new sony camcorder is AVCHD.

Thanks

Sony mini DV camcorders?

05 Jun

Does anyone else find that having the white balance on auto gives hardly any colour to the picture? If I press ‘outdoor’ even if I’m indoors, it’s much more colourful. I haven’t tried filming with it on this setting, but would it be ok to leave it on outdoor? Why is there no colour on auto? What is one push white balance?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Will the new Sandisk 4 and 8GB High Definition memory stick pro duos work in any Sony camera?

02 Jun

I’m confused about the “video” and looking for a simple, specific answer. I know that memory sticks in general are for Sony cameras specifically. But is it only for camcorders or will it work on still image cameras, as well? Generally, I know that the regular memory sticks are cheaper…but if I can get a really good deal on an 8GB high definition pro duo…will it work, yes or no?
And note: That was supposed to say Sandisk 4 and 8GB High Definition Video Memory Stick Pro Duos. It specifically says 60 mins of video for the 4GB and 120 mins of video for the 8GB. But I’m simply wondering if it can be used for pictures, instead.
