I have a mini dv camcorder and we have taped video on the cassettes. Is there a way that we can take what is stored on the cassettes and put in on disc format? Is there any other way to view the mini cassettes without viewing them through the camera? We know how to connect camcorder to TV to watch what was recorded but how could we view if the camcorder did not work? Thanks!

I’ve tried using the USB firewire cord to make a conneciton between my Sony Digital 8 Camcorder – Model # is DCR-TRV460. I’ve tried it on both XP and Vista, and cant seem to get the computer to upload the videos that I have on the tape inside of the camera.
I’ve tried to download the drivers off of the sony esupport website, no such luck in getting this thing to work.
Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

I heard that you can use a MiniDV camcorder as a pass through for putting Hi8 tapes to my computer. They say it is the best way because the video is only lightly compressed. So i was looking at cheap MiniDV camcorders and i came along Samsung SC-D372 that was refurbished for $80. That is about the price i was going to spend on dazzle. I want to know it will work before I buy it.

I have a Sony MiniDV camcorder with Firewire or USB output. I’d like to stream this video live using a live streaming website such as livestream.com without having to hook up the camera to a computer. In other words, is there an appliance like the Slingbox that can take video from the camcorder, connect to the internet and directly stream it out or stream it through one of the live streaming sites?
