I want to edit videos and also type credits. Please suggest a cheap way of editing and also how can I hook up my Sony camcorder to my laptop?

I connected the camcorder to my Hp but it doesn’t give me any options to download the tape to the computer. I already downloaded the CD that came with the camcorder “digital photo navigator 1.5″ but again it doesn’t give me any option.

I want to know what kind of camera or a camcorder has good all around features but also good video taking abilities.

I know that there are several different kinds of camcorders (Digital 8,MiniDV,etc.) What is the best kind of camcorder to use if you want to upload videos to your computer?

I just got ahold of Pinnacle Studio Version 10 and have been using this to transfer videos captured on camcorders to the computer and so far have been successful. The videos I have been transfering have been from a HI8 and with a few adjustments the recording is crystal clear however when I try and do this with the VHS the recording comes in unsteady, the audio is not placed with the moving video and the color is distorted. I am coming to believe that my computer is not fast enough but I don’t think this is the case for the VHS. Otherwise I rather think it is the connection that I have been using. For the HI8 recordings I am using an S-Cable which I think makes a huge difference. I am thinking if I had an S-Cable connection on the VHS this would be all I would need but before I spend another 100$ I want to be sure this is worth the investment. Any help would be grealty appreciated. Thanks.

I want to start putting up family videos on a website. I’m looking to buy a good camcorder under $300 that I can use to upload videos to my computer. I just need to know what type of camcorder I should use. Or if you have some brand suggestions that would be great too. Thanks!

I have a sony digital 8 camcorder and when i plug in the chord to my computer it doesn’t recognize it and therefore i cant upload the video.

I currently have a channel on youtube, and while my Mac was great for recording personal vlogs. I want to make skits with friends. I’m looking for a camcorder that costs less then $250 but still produces good quality video for online along with decent audio. Does anyone have any recommendations with those details in mind?

I’m using my mom’s camcorder, and of course it takes tapes.
So this brings up my question, how the heck do I get these videos onto my computer?
It doesn’t come with a cord to do that and I’m not sure they make those cords for this type of camera..
And it also doesn’t have an area for memory cards.
So does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have a Sony Handicam Hi8 camcorder. It uses 8mm tapes. I want to make dvds out of my home videos. Is it possible to do this? If so, what do I need to do it?
My camcorder has a mini A/V adapter to the red, white, and yellow RCA cable. I don’t have firewire on my computer.
