What’s the difference between a Flip Ultra and a Flip Mino camcorder?

I have both and I think the difference in picture quality is significant, especially for indoor shooting where you often have low light situations. After shooting HD videos, I was surprised how much grainier my older videos from Flip looked in comparison. The compression format is also different from the older Flip which helps compress the video despite the HD quality. The HD videos look so much better on my 17″ LCD laptop than the older Flip videos. I also have Creative Vado HD, which I like due to the larger capacity and larger screen size for the same price range.

    The Ultra:
Higher resolution display, double the capacity, better quality video, uses AA batteries instead of an internal non-removable rechargeable lithium battery, twice as heavy, and…

LESS EXPENSIVE?? Why do I have a flip mino???

You’re right, it’s really confusing that the Flip Ultra has so many more features but is less expensive than the Mino. The Mino is significantly smaller than the Ultra though. So if you are looking for something really small and are willing to sacrifice some features choose Mino. If you want all the features and don’t mind carrying something bigger, get Flip Ultra. You can compare all 4 versions here. http://www.theflip.com/products_flip_ultra_specs.II.shtml
